My Favourite Cool Drinks

Butter Milk


Ingredients:
1Cup whole milk
1 tbsp Cream of tartar or lemon juice

Method:
Add cream of tartar or lemon juice to the milk
Stir and allow it to stand at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
When milk starts to curdle, stir well.
Buttermilk is ready to serve.

Jal Jeera

Ingredients:
2tbsp Cumin seeds
2 tbsp Mint leaves
1 tsp Fresh coriander leaves
2 tbsp Lemon juice
1/2 tsp Black salt
5 Cups chilled water
Pinch of sugar

Method:
Grind the cumin seeds to make fine powder.
Roast the powder.
Grind mint and coriander to make a paste.
Mix roasted cumin powder, mint paste, coriander paste lemon juice and black salt.
Now add water and mix well.
Pour cold water.
Adorn with mint leaves.

Mango Shake

Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup peeled and chopped ripe mango
sugar to taste
1/4th tsp. cardamom powder
Few ice-cubes

Method:
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth in a blender.
Strain through a sieve, pushing as much liquid as possible. If the pulp has been used there is no need to strain.
Pour in glasses and serve.
Garnish with top of a mint sprig.

Elacichi Doodh

Ingredients:
15 blanched almonds
4-5 ice cubes
3 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp. cardamom seeds
sugar to taste

Method:
Combine the almonds & cardamom seeds in a blender and process for 2-3 minutes or until the nuts are reduced to a fine puree.
Add milk to it and further blend on low speed for 15-20 seconds.
Now add ice cubes to it and blend it for another 10 seconds.
Add the sweetner.
Serve it.

Strawberry Banana Shake

Ingredients:
1 tsp Honey
1 ripe Banana
3 cups of Soymilk
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 cup frozen Strawberries

Method:
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend.
Serve cold.
